- Bainbridge Island — wineries, bakeries, beach walks. 30 minutes north.
- Port Townsend — Victorian seaport with great restaurants. 75 minutes northwest.

- Reserve the Seattle ferry as a vehicle if you plan to drive on; walk-on is first come first served and cheaper.
- Mornings tend to be quieter on the Bremerton waterfront — great for coffee with a view.
